nv and Cell-B being proprietary compression schemes have their own packetisation schemes. H.261 and MPEG have no standard packetisation scheme.
The Audio/Visual Transport group of the IETF has defined the RTP (Real Time Transport Protocol) for the transmission of real time data such as audio and video over IP. This is now at the status of draft standard. Both the nv software and the MICE packetisation scheme for H.261 use RTP. As there was no standard for packetisation of H.261, the MICE partners have defined such a scheme, which is based on top of RTP. This scheme is described in Appendix 1, and is currently an Internet Draft.
